Join the Ghostly Getaways Team for a weekend of grissly hauntings in England's most haunted capital, the City of York. You will spend two nights Bed Breakfast and Evening Meals in the old part of the Four Star Mercure York Fairfield Hotel & Spa which in itself is extremely haunted. This hotel was once a Sanitorium and has many areas where ghostly sightings have been captured. Once you have dropped your car on Friday night you will not need it again until you leave on Sunday as this tour includes coach travel to and from our locations. We have an after dinner speaker on the Friday who will regale you with York's most haunted tales and a ghost hunt at the hotel to follow. On the Saturday you will be taken by coach into the Centre of York where you will enjoy FREE access to The York Castle Museum which you can go through at your leisure.

Famous throughout the world as a fantastic demonstration of York's barbaric and turbulent history this tour will clearly show you why York has the reputation of being perhaps the most haunted city in the world. You will then have free time to wander through York Shambles or visit the Jorvik Centre after perhaps taking in a spot of lunch at one of their many restaurants, including the world famous Bettys Tea Rooms. You will then be picked up by coach and returned to the hotel for some leisure time before the night ahead. On Saturday night, after a delicious 3 course meal, we will make our way by coach to 12 Clifford Street, home of The York Dungeons where we will be ghost hunting throughout the night. York Dungeons has a fearsome reputation by day. Imagine what it will be like once the lights are off and we are left to work in the pitch black of what is a truly sinister location. The Dungeon sits within the grounds of what were once part of the monastic buildings belonging to the Friary of Franciscans or Grey Friar Monks. By day this is a tourist attraction drawing in thousands of visitors eager to be terrified but at night, once the lights go out the dungeons will tell a different story.
