Sweetie Cocktails - London Marathon fundraiser evening
|Address||23 High Street|
23 High Street
For one night - and one night only. Join us in the Book-ish Loft on Friday 6th April 2018 from 7pm and step back in time to Grandma's world of old-fashioned sweets, sold for tuppence and handed over in a paper bag.....except this time, those old favourites have been translated into deliciously naughty alcoholic confections. Based on Adele Nozedar's book 'Great British Sweets', enjoy hearing the bonkers stories of these sweeties while you drink them. There will be a selection of cocktail shots to try. Could it be the rhubarb and custard? Or sherbet lemon? Kola cubes or humbugs? How about parma violets, bonfire toffee or Everton mints? Who knows but you will get to drink at least 3 of these quirky cocktails, along with a provision of nibbles. But why are we doing this? Because Sarah Jeremiah is running the London Marathon on 22nd April 2018 in to raise funds for St David’s Hospice Care.
Just imagine. The training on long, dark, cold winter mornings through snow, wind and rain and then the 26 miles of sheer agony, blistered feet, aching thighs and potential groin strain. Sarah is doing this so you don't have to. Instead, all you have to do is get some friends together, buy some tickets (bring along some additional space cash for lovely raffle prizes and then join us for a fun evening with lots of surprises along the way. Ticket Price is £15 and a bar will also be available for those who wish to drink more. Please contact Book-ish or Sarah to confirm your place – spaces are limited.
