A devotional performance by the University of Exeter Chapel Choir. John Stainer composed “The Crucifixion: A Meditation on the Sacred Passion of the Holy Redeemer” in 1887 whilst Organist of St Paul’s Cathedral. The libretto by W J Sparrow Simpson is set for tenor and bass soloists and chorus, and includes five hymns intended for congregational participation. The University of Exeter Chapel Choir is an auditioned ensemble of student musicians whose principal role is to sing the liturgical services offered by the University Chapels. In addition, the choir performs concerts and sings services at other places of worship around Devon, most especially at Exeter Cathedral, and has also taken part in television broadcasts. ALL ARE WELCOME TO THIS DEVOTIONAL PERFORMANCE.

FREE ADMISSION, NO TICKETS REQUIRED.
