In this busy one day workshop at Slamseys, you will learn the techniques of stencil screen printing; working with both positive and negative stencils. We begin with looking at screen printing repeat designs using smaller screens, with the opportunity to use our thermofax screens, and move onto larger-scale bold designs with our bigger screens. During the workshop you will learn about setting up a studio space, have the chance to explore different inks and print surfaces and practice registering a two colour design. By the end of the workshop you will have the skills and knowledge to get set up and continue printing at home. You will leave with … 5 quality prints on paper and experimental prints of your unique designs. At the end of the workshop an in depth manual will be emailed to you, with a list of supplies and instructions to help you get set up and printing at home.

Who is this workshop for? Beginners with no experience in printmaking and those with a little printmaking experience who would like to refresh their knowledge. There will be a demonstration of each new technique before we start. Once you have completed this course, you may be interested in Returner Screen Printing Open Access. Materials All printmaking equipment and materials will be provided. Please bring along your sketchbook or any special reference material, as it helps if you have some design ideas in mind to work from.
