Reel News returns to T Chances in Tottenham for our regular night of films, discussion, music, drinks - and getting stuff organised too. THIS MONTH: McSTRIKE. We're very pleased to welcome McDonalds strikers to come and speak alongside films of the historic first strike in the UK on September 4, the Fight for 15 campaign in the U.S. which has resulted in pay rises for millions of fast food workers, and the incredible campaign in New Zealand which won a decent pay rise, union recognition and an end to zero hours contracts - the catalyst for the government to ban ALL zero hours contracts in the country last year. The strategy in this country will mirror those two successful campaigns - of appealing to activists outside the fast food industry to help with unionising drives and building social movements that involve people beyond the workplaces to target their employers.

Come along and help get more fast food stores out on strike - MCStrike T-shirts will be available alongside other materials, and of course we'll be taking a collection for the strikers to take away with them. PLUS: BLACKLISTING The Blacklist Support Group were out again in force this month to protest over notorious blacklisters Sir Robert McAlpine being awarded the £29 million contract to refurbish Big Ben. DAVE SMITH and FRANK MORRIS will come and talk about the next steps as we show films of the protest, plus Frank's latest successful campaign to get his job back after beng sacked and blacklisted for the third time. PLUS: A round up of news on latest disputes, and mobilisations for the COP23 climate talks in November ...
