Please attend this mandatory awareness session if you wish to find out more about being a Police Control Room Controller. This is one of the most varied and rewarding phone-based customer service roles you’re likely to find. If you join our team you’ll be at the front line of policing, handling a range of 999 emergency and 101 non-emergency calls that are as diverse as the community we serve. One moment you might need to comfort the victim of a violent attack and the next you could be dealing with a call about escaped horses. You’ll need to handle every call professionally, asking the right questions, listening carefully for vital details and logging information on our IT systems quickly and accurately. So you’ll need to strike a fine balance between showing empathy for every caller and staying unemotional when you’re dealing with sometimes disturbing details.

In the Police Control Room you will also be responsible for the deployment of police resources to live incidents by deploying officers over the radio. You will be responsible for dynamically risk assessing incidents and making deployment decisions to manage them effectively. You will be based in Netley and you’ll need the flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends (including some bank holidays). In return, you’ll receive full training and on-going support to make sure you continue to provide a high quality service. To register for the event please visit:
