WHAT IS IT? A powerful movement and physicality workshop for performers exploring how to create a character using your body as a starting point. HOW WILL IT WORK? Niamh will use her extensive experience as a movement teacher and director to guide participants through dynamic exercises designed to connect performers with their bodies in a much deeper way; this connection will then be used to begin to find and build individual, unique characters through physicality. In the latter half of the session, participants will apply this learning to an existing character in their repertoire. WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF IT? Participants will leave with a deeper appreciation and practical understanding of the powerful ways in which physical work can impact upon character development, and some simple, effective exercises and ideas to enhance preparation of future roles.

Furthermore, they will gain a better general body awareness and heightened sense of how to make the most of the body in performance. HOW MUCH IS IT? £85 for the day, or £75 for students*. *Must be able to provide valid student ID on the day. TUTOR: Niamh McKernan Niamh is a movement teacher and director.
