SOS Silence of Suicide was established by Michael Mansfield QC and his partner Yvette Greenway, following the suicide in May 2015 of Michael Mansfield's daughter Anna and, 5 months earlier, the suicide of a life long friend of Yvette's. SOS is a unique service with one simple aim - to encourage open, honest discourse by all those affected by suicide, from a safe platform provided by Michael and Yvette, where stigma, shame and silence do not exist. Their visit to Theresa May in November 2016 was a great success and the Prime Minister asked themm to work with her Deputy Head of Policy to feed into the Government's Suicide Prevention Program which we did in December 2016 at No 10. This opened up new reach opportunities to individuals within Government departments. They are extremely proud of what SOS has achieved in just 2 years and it's onwards and upwards in terms of the continued delivery of our SOS networking initiatives - including ongoing SOS support for those affected by the Grenfell atrocity with our 'Safe Space To Talk' meetings and our journey to the other side of the world to deliver an SOS meeting in August 2017 to the people of Auckland, New Zealand.
