Immigration New Prime Minister Home Office Rules

Immigration 2019 – Into 2020 Immigration law is complex and subject to frequent changes. We have a new Prime Minister and a new Home Secretary, Priti Patel as well as Brexit looming on the horizon. Boris is determined to overhaul our current rules with business needs at the heart of system. Aberdeen has recruitment challenges. Renewed activity in the North Sea is seeing oil and gas companies ramp up recruitment into the region. But with the price of the barrel having been so low for so long, and North Sea activity having stalled in recent years, employers face a depleted local talent market. Resident British and EU workers previously employed in the region have left to follow work in Australia, South America, the Middle East and other parts of the globe. As a result, recruiting for the revival has become heavily reliant on migrant workers, who must first secure a Tier 2 visa to be able to undertake skilled work in Britain.

The session is for personnel who are responsible for your company’s PBS Licence, recruitment and Tier 2 visas and Compliance. We will cover Boris Johnson’s Australian points based system proposal Priti Patel’s – How to make immigration work/be relevant for Businesses Tier 2 ICT and General - the new rules being introduced by the Home Office Resident Labour Market Test changes and the impact on recruitment New rules which will allow graduates to work post study Changes to the Business Visitor making it more flexible for your overseas employees to work in the UK Right to work updates including new rules for EU nationals We are a firm of solicitors and specialise exclusively in the field of immigration law.
