Manorlands Mascot Gold Cup

The world's largest mascot race, the Mascot Gold Cup returns to Wetherby Race Course and Conference Centre during the Family Day race meeting on Sunday 26th April 2020. This is the 15th Mascot Gold Cup, which set the Guinness World Record for the Most Mascots in a Race back in 2015 - you can check out a video of golden highlights covering the past 14 years' of the Mascot Gold Cup on the Sue Ryder website.  Get involved in this year's event - which is set to be bigger and better than ever - and have a great day out at Wetherby Races while helping us at Sue Ryder to continue providing palliative, neurological and bereavement support in West Yorkshire. What to expect on the day Mascots first take part in the Mascot Parade where punters can place their bets on their favourites.

A number of prizes are up for grabs during the Mascot Parade, including Best Turned Out Mascot. Following the parade, there is a one-minute mascot warm-up before the race itself. Mascots run the final furlong in front of the cheering grandstands; that's 220 yards negotiating six small fences. Mascot benefits Mascots will be sent two complimentary race day passes (one for themselves and another for a helper) and can purchase unlimited extra half-price tickets (if ordered in advance) for supporters, colleagues and friends – making the event an ideal corporate, community group or family day out. Under-16s get in free if accompanied by an adult. The sooner you sign up, the more time your organisation will be promoted on our Sue Ryder web page, so why not grab your credit card and sign up now? Interested, but no mascot? Get in touch.
We have a ‘stable’ of mascots that can be 'adopted' for the day on a first-come-first-served basis. Keen to fundraise for another charity? We know that many good causes have mascots so we are allowing them to compete in the Mascot Gold Cup and keep all the sponsorship money they raise, provided they pay the £40 entry fee to Sue Ryder. FAQs Is there an age limit to take part?We recommend that runners be at least 16 years old; however, we are considering a children’s fancy dress race as well. How will I receive my two complimentary tickets? These will be mailed out in the participants' pack.   What time do I need to be there? The Family Race Day starts at 12 noon but the actual Mascot Race is at 2.20pm. We recommend mascots aim to be present at 12.00pm as they are required in costume for the pre-race Mascot Parade round the ring.
I don’t have a costume but really want to take part...No problem - we have lots of costumes that you can choose from. If you email [email protected], we can send you the catalogue of available costumes.  How can I contact the organiser with any questions? Please contact Andrew Wood at [email protected] or call 01535 640 176.
