This event is the third of four over 2018/19. A collaboration between Essex County council, Southend Council and Thurrock Council with Anglia Ruskin and University of Essex. This event is a full day event, there are local town car parking facilities available and accessibility via C2C train services to Southend Central/ Victoria. This event is only for practice educators, placement tutors, on site supervisors and academics working with social work students in the areas covered by above. Please note, there are park various pay and display and shopping centre car parks in the university vicinity. The campus is served by bus routes and C2C rail link from London Fenchurch Street to Southend Central/ Victoria.

3rd Workshop session: How to Relate Social Work Theories to Practice This workshop will focus on the key challenges faced by students/NQSW’s when they are attempting to demonstrate their understanding of social work theory and how it relates to practice. A key skill required by the assessor is to enable the student/NQSW to demonstrate their understanding of social work theory and how it relates to the practice they are undertaking or experiencing. This workshop is therefore a must for all for all PE’S, ASYE Assessors and On-site Supervisors who are looking for evidence to meet the requirements of the PCF/KSS.By the end of the workshop you will have: Looked at the requirements of the PCF/KSS as they relate to demonstrating theory to practice Explored practical examples to support the students/NQSW learning Considered innovative ways of gaining evidence.
The workshop will cover how to use the Learning agreement to maximise evidence gathering for assessment and exercises that support the student/NQSW to demonstrate learning in this important area.
