20/11/2019 : Transient Visitor Levy Information Session
Transient Visitor Levy Information Session: Scottish Government- Orkney
This session is by video link to the information session in Shetland. This public event is an opportunity for Scottish Government officials to engage and inform those interested in the development of a transient visitor levy (tourist tax) in Scotland, discussing the formal consultation process and what a levy could look like and explaining the next steps towards a Bill in the Scottish Parliament. We aim to engage those interested to allow you to contribute to our formal consultation following the event. There is disabled access and a hearing loop system available for this event. If you would like to discuss any additional needs please email any queries you have to [email protected] or call 0131 244 0673. Purpose: The Scottish Government is consulting on the principles of a locally determined visitor levy (tourist tax).
We're holding events in different parts of the country to provide an opportunity for everyone who has an interest to discuss and inform us on what a Scottish Visitor Levy might look like. We want to hear your views and the direction you think it should take, as well as the issues you think a new tax should seek to address. Your comments will not contribute to the official consultation process but will inform and develop our understanding and consideration of the issues. Registration information: This is a free, open event, limited only by venue capacity. Light refreshments will be provided. To guarantee a space please register on Eventbrite, or call 0131 244 0673. Those attending on the day without registering will be admitted on a first come basis. By attending this event we will use contact information provided to contact you in reference to the information session and on the consultation more widely. If you would not like to receive any further contact after the event you can advise the team of your preferences on [email protected]
