Saturday 20th July 2019 Times: 13:00 - 16:00 (screening at 15:45) Metal, Chauffeurs Cottage, 1 St Peters Rd, Peterborough, PE1 1YX  Cost: £10 Number of places: 8 per session     The workshop: How do you make a film without a camera? In this workshop we will explore the materiality of 16mm film; marking, scratching, drawing and manipulating celluloid in various ways before immediately running the film through a projector and viewing the colourful abstract animation and experimental results at the end of the session. Accessible to all ages. Run in collaboration with Cine-Sister   About Chris:  Chris Paul Daniels is an Artist and Filmmaker, based in Manchester. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2010 and co-won the Deutsche Bank Award for Art with Maria Anastassiou for Unravel, the longest hand painted film in Britain.

This project resulted in one hundred public events across the UK including Tate Britain, BFI Southbank, Turner Contemporary and IKON Gallery and a residency at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. Recent commissions include 'SAFE' at HOME in Manchester, ‘A Tigers Skin’ at CFCCA,  ‘One Square Mile’ for Quays Culture and University of Salford Art Collection (with Sam Meech) and ‘Northern Lights’, inspired by the Blackpool Illuminations, was co-commissioned by ICA and The Grundy Art Gallery was nominated for ‘Best British Short’ at London Short Film Festival and continues to play at festivals internationally.  Chris is a Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Filmmaking course at Manchester School of Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.  www.chrispauldaniels.com
