Get Creative. with Cornwall Film Festival on a Journey of Story Discovery.   Have you a story to share? Would you like to write for the screen? This beginners workshop provides you with the skills and confidence to discover what you want to say and how to say it, using fun, creative exercises on story discovery, story construction and creating stories for the screen. A must for all writers.   About the tutor her own words: My name is Jane Pugh, I live with friends and my dog by the sea. I teach and facilitate because my job is to help people create stories.  I am working with the National Trust on a series of story workshops across the Southwest. I teach script writing at Falmouth University. I facilitate the Writers Development Programme at the Minack Theatre. I run writing workshops for young people with the Story Republic.

I script edit. Formerly, I script-edited television dramas for the BBC and ITV network. I produced short films which won six awards, including an Oscar. I perform my one-woman-show, Life Girl, I write stage-plays for families, perform story-telling and stand-up. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education, I'm a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and, in 2018 the Story Republic won a Innovation in Teaching Award.  Cornwall Film Festival's Get Creative workshops are FREE (£5 refundable deposit*) giving a fantastic chance to jump in and try something new, there workshops will cover a whole range of media training opportunities provided by a series of industry professionals across a range of genres including, but not limited to: photography, animation, advertising, digital content, television and film production.
This event is taking place at THE SOLOMAN BROWN HALL, Duck street, Mousehole, Penzance, TR19 6QW This programme of events is aimed at: Employed females, Participants aged 40 and over, Participants from ethnic minorities, Participants with disabilities & single adult household with dependent children. Although all are welcome.  Please bring a form of ID to these events for registration purposes, this could include any one of the following: Passport, Birth/Adoption certificate, N.I card, Marriage certificate, HMRC Letter. The project is receiving up to £36,713 of funding from the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions (and in London the intermediate body Greater London Authority) is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme. Established by the European Union, the European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations.

Notebook, pens, paper, laptop, phone etc Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? Nope, save the paper.  I have a question how to I get in touch? If you have a question the best thing to do is send us an email [email protected]  Where should I park? The is no car parking associated with the hall, but there is plenty of parking within Mousehole.  How much is it to attend? This workshop is free however we are having to charge a £5 refundable deposit to ensure those who have signed up attend. When you attend we will refund you the money. If you have attended more than one workshop you will need to pay £20 (non refundable) making the workshop about £5 per hour.

If you do not attend the event then your deposit will not be refunded unless you provide us with at least 24 hours notice.
