Vinylsessions Goes Church Friday Th January We Present Tubular Bells

Vinylsessions Goes to Church - 8.00pm Friday 17th January 2020 We Present Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells at All Saints Church - Kirkby Overblow - Harrogate - A Truly Amazing Evening Planned After nearly 20 Vinyl Sessions at our regular monthly venue Starlings Café/Bar in Harrogate there will be a symbolic event at All Saints Church, Kirkby Overblow to celebrate Mike Oldfield’s classic album Tubular Bells on vinyl. The recording will be played on period equipment of the era in the enchanted acoustics of Kirkby Overblow’s All Saints Church. Tubular Bells is the debut studio album by English multi-instrumentalist, composer and songwriter Mike Oldfield released on 25 May 1973 as the first album on Virgin Records Oldfield, then 19 years old, played almost all the instruments on the mostly instrumental album.

The evening will be introduced by Graham Chalmers - Features Editor of Harrogate Advertiser and Jim Dobbs runs a live big screen video show plus Colettes raffle Colin has a real challenge with the acoustics - the audio menu features JVC JLA7 Turntable & Shure V15III Cartridge, 1973 Sony TA1130 Amplifier & 1973 TA2000 Power Amplifier, KEF 104 & KEF Concerto Speakers - over 300 watts of heavy Oriental Silicon. The Shoulder of Mutton pub just over the road is serving good food & snacks plus fine bears for refreshments. Car parking is available in front of the church and village area in general PLACES CAN BE RESERVED FREE VIA THE LINK SECTION BELOW BUT A SUGGESTED DONATION OF £5 WOULD BE APPRECIATED - EVERY PENNY GOES DIRECT TO THE CHARITY NEO-MONITOR APPEAL.
