Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk Birmingham

Join us on 14th July for Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk 2019 (Bridging the Divide: Confronting Hate) as we come together in peace to remember and honour victims who tragically lost their lives in the Srebrenica genocide. The objective of the event is also to inspire people to challenge those who wish to divide communities, celebrate those who build bridges between communities and change attitudes and behaviours in others to go out and build bridges of their own. As part of the walk, we will be stopping at two places of worship to learn more about their interfaith work, to raise awareness of the Srebrenica genocide and celebrate the diversity within our own community. In addition, this year’s walk will also include a community picnic and an act of remembrance using white flowers.

The West Midlands Remembering Srebrenica Peace Walk 2019 will commence at Cannon Hill Park (meeting outside of the MAC by the lake), with stops at Balsall Heath Church Centre and The Central Synagogue, before ending at the Bosnian Cultural Centre. Participants will have a unique opportunity to visit the above-mentioned places of worship and hear about the amazing work they do within our local community. All are welcome. NOTE: Kindly RSVP so that we may ensure we have enough food and can coordinate a safe walk based on numbers.
