Biiab Level Award Responsible Alcohol Retailing Arar

Course Description Cambridge City Council is accredited with the British Innkeeping Institute Awarding Body (BIIAB) to award the Level 1 Award for Responsible Alcohol Retailing (ARAR). The ARAR meets an industry-wide need to demonstrate commitment to responsible alcohol retailing by covering topics that include: The nature of alcohol and the effect it has on the human body The main points of the Licensing Act 2003 as they relate to alcohol retailers and servers Licensing law and the protection of children from harm The social responsibilities associated with the retail sale of alcohol How to recognise drunkenness, and an inidivudla's duty not to serve drunk customers How licensed premises can help to prevent or eliminate alcohol-related crime and conflict The importance of personal safety This course is aimed at front-of-house staff who are involved in the sale of alcohol on a day-to-day basis.

Individuals wishing to gain a deeper understanding of licensing law and the application process should consider the BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders that we also offer.     Course delivery Our accredited licensing courses are delivered by trainers who have acheieved the Level 3 Award in Education and Training as well as the Institute of Licensing's Professional Licensing Practitioners' Qualification. This course is delivered in a half day session followed by a short multiple-choice exam. A comprehensive handbook, presented in an easy-to-follow format, supports the qualification and covers all the information required to complete the exam. The exam has two parts: Section one: 3 questions - pass mark 100% (3 out of 3) Section two: 22 questions - pass mark 64% (14 out of 22) The ARAR is accredited on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Level 1 and has a credit value of 1.
The accreditation number is 500/77442. Course fee: £67.00, includes the following: Training course provided by experienced Licensing Officers Registration/examination fees Course workbook Refreshments Re-sits of the examination will be charged at £20.00.  FAQs Are there are any entry requirements? Whilst there are no formal entry requirements learners will need to have a good understanding of English and maths. If English is not your first language then please contact us to discuss what support we may be able to offer.   Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event? Yes. You will need to bring one of the following to the training course in order to sit the examination: Signed valid passport (any nationality) Signed UK paper driving licence Signed UK photo card driving licence Valid EU photo identity card Valid UK firearms licence with photograph Security Licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) ID/Warrant/Prison Service card issued by HM Forces, Police, Prison Service (must be current and valid) Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) Card (MUST have PASS hologram on card)   We will be asking for proof of ID at the beginning of the training course.

Further cycle parking is available adjacent to John Lewis on Downing Street. Bus The Citi 1, 3 and 7 services all stop on Regent Street close to the Customer Service Centre. Train Cambridge railway station is about a 20 minute walk from the Customer Service Centre. The Citi 1 and 7 services all connect Cambridge railway station to the city centre. Is my registration/ticket transferrable? Yes.
A person who is unable to attend may find someone else to substitute for them, but please be aware that no refund will be made to the original applicant. What happens after I make an order? One of the licensing officers will send you a confirmation letter together with instructions for the day and a map to the training venue. We aim to send this letter out within 7 working days of receiving your order.*  * Please note all orders received between 8th - 31st March 2019 will be processed week commencing 1st April 2019 due to the course tutor being on leave. What is the refund policy? No refunds will be given for cancellations made by the student within 14 days of the start of the course; this is conditional on any course handbook issued being returned to the Council. A full refund of the course booking fee will be given if the cancellation is made by Cambridge City Council. Are group discounts available?
