ANGHARAD DAVIES is a violinist, one at ease in both improvising and composition, with a wide discography as part of varied range of ensembles and groups. She's a specialist in the art of 'preparing' her violin, adding objects or materials to it to extend its sound making properties. Her sensitivity to the sonic possibilities of musical situations and attentiveness to their shape and direction make her one of contemporary music's most fascinating figures. 2015 has seen her being commissioned for a new work at the Counterflows Festival, Glasgow and premiering Eliane Radigue's new solo for violin, Occam XXI at the El Nicho Festival, Mexico.
Jenn Kirby is an Irish composer, based in Swansea, Wales. She composes both acoustic and electronic contemporary works. Jenn is an active member of the Irish Composers' Collective and the Irish Sound, Science and Technology Association. She is a director and performing member of the Dublin Laptop Orchestra and a committee member of the Association of Irish Composers.
ROSE & DAN LINN-PEARL are Welsh born and Swansea –based musicians. Collaborating as a partnership for over 15 years, they have performed throughout the UK.
Beginning their musical life as a busking partnership in North America, they have since traversed alt rock (Alpha Rise), political folk (Linear Bug), and experimental electronic pop (Karma junkie). Currently they are experimenting with improvisation, working within the confines of violin and electric guitar.
They presently have in production Sain: Sound, a feature length documentary exploring the sonic art scene currently flourishing in Wales. The film questions the role experimental sound-making has in Wales, and whether there is a link to its historical and cultural make-up.
